Yesterday I had to rush the workout, one hour on elliptical, because I think Suz is coming down with the flu and maybe the Swine Flu. So I had to cart the kids around. But I still managed to work in 50 minutes. I could have gone longer but I pushed myself harder so I figure that made up for the slightly shorter workout.
Today's snow will be a challenge with Suz's bug to boot. But I will force myself to make it to the Y somehow. My guess is that the kids will be home.
Dropped by Trader Joe's yesterday to scout it out. Did buy some serving sized packages of roasted almonds, unsalted. I am not a huge fan of raw almonds. I did use a serving right before I hit the gym. Also before that, I went to lunch with the boss yesterday too @ Bandana's--Turkey Lunch Plate with double slaw on the side. I love the garlic bread but only ate less than half of one piece. Had two glasses of ice water.
I was tired yesterday. After lunch I had the yawns. But going to the gym helped with that. Did not sleep too well Tuesday night again, but I can't let that stop me from my goal. Gotta keep pushing.
The first two weeks are brutal, but after today seven more days until things start to get better and Saturday is weigh-in day. Eager to see where I am. Taking it one day at a time is a big help. Have not wavered from the food plan. And with each day it gets easier. I get stronger. There are temptations all around me. but I am focused on the prize. Plus I am noticing how much better I feel from avoiding the slop I would normally consume.
I had to make dinner last night with Suzanne out of commission. I would not survive as a single parent. I made some kind of pan grilled chicken breast thing with breadcrumbs, parm, salt and pepper. (Of course under Suzanne's directions) It was tasty because I was starving. And we ate brussel sprouts as the veggie side. The kids had Whole Foods mac and cheese from the box as their starch. I did not. Orange for dessert.
I am feeling cleaner everyday.
