There is great show on BBC America called You Are What You Eat. The show stars a nutritionist who basically saves unhealthy people from their horrendous food habits and helps them get their lives back.
My favorite scene on each show is where the "food nanny" comes on and spreads out on the table what each person eats for the week. Boy does that have an amazing effect on people. Once you see the food, the amount and what it is, you really dont want to eat the slop ever again. It is a must see if you have pay TV.
I caught one the other night, where this guy lost 100 lbs in eight months by simply no longer eating slop and changing over to heathly veggies and protiens. He was a completely different person. For instance, he no longer got up at 3am and made and entire Shepard's Pie and ate it all by himself.
I think I really like to see the food spread because it forces me to think about what I am shoving down my throat. I love to see the utter disbelief on the peoples' faces when they see what they consume, which tells me that they are not consciously eating. Watching the show reminds me that I don't want to go back to "Zombie Eating".
